  • Candidates upload portfolio evidence and score themselves. Then Assessor moderate the scores. Reviews can be requested. There’s also an overall “portfolio organisation Score”
  • This year they had capacity to interview all who submitted a portfolio. Portfolio score gets combined with interview score to rank candidates.
  • Roughly most candidates scored about 30 out of 45 points on the grid. Negatively skewed graph. You can upload further evidence during application window and scores get uplifted accordingly.
  • Research – you get 2 points for enrolling patients into a research project.
  • Teaching – you must upload the evidence of how much and how long and what level of involvement in teaching programme. There is a move in future to move the leadership aspect of running a teaching programme into “Domain 10” (leadership)
  • A poster presentation gets you 4 points.
  • Extra anaesthetics exam including EDIAC and FICM get you nothing.
  • In future they may allow candidates to accept both an ICM and an anaesthetics number in the same recruitment year.
